I am grateful for…a different perspective

When we think of our lives, we usually think about the past, present, and future.

In this perspective, I was thinking about the present, future, and then the past.

Where I am today, where I want to go, and where I’ve been is how I think about my life and how I look at the way I structure my thinking. Whether it’s about a course I am developing or a book that I am writing.

What’s the significance of that, and is there any difference in the way we approach things?

If we look at the traditional way of looking at things, we are putting the past first. What effect does this have on how you might frame your thoughts, behaviors, and personality. How are our lives affected by thinking this way? We might give the past more weight than it deserves. We also could keep revisiting the same things over and over again. It might be a less efficient or effective process of dealing with the past.

Suppose we put it last, our perspective changes. We are thinking about it differently. We have already decided where we are going. We have already analyzed and looked at where we are now and what our future will look like. So we are framing our lives from the present to the future. We have already dealt with the past. We are working from a place of being in the present state of mind. It feels like we are reflecting after we have already decided how we are going to get there.

Where we are now
Where we want to go
How are we going to get there?

Maybe that is where the past comes into play the most. What work do we still need to do to be our future self?

What habits need to be developed what skills need to be learned. Do we need to go back to the past and ask WHY? The past is a reference point. Or do we need to recognize what needs to be done and do it? There are different thoughts on this. People will want to analyze the cause of the problem. Sometimes with significant trama, you might have to do that. I am not going to say that my thinking is the only way to approach something. It’s just one way, and it is always open and welcome for discussion.

If you want to make progress quickly ( that is a relative term), I think the way I frame it works a little better, quicker, and to the point. Maybe a more no-nonsense approach.
